Hello, howzit & Sawubona! I'm Centaine - pronounced 'Sen - tayne' but most people simply call me Cents.  Newbie to the Lowveld. My hubby and I moved here in May of 2025.  I'm a Wife, Dog Mom and a kaalvoet kind / flip-flop queen and proud of it. A straightforward down to earth gal, no need for fuss or frills, and I must admit a small bit of OCD thrown in the mix too (ha ha ha) and an old school Disney fan!

I am a true African bush baby at heart, my all-time favourite place to be is in the bushveld specifically at a place called Ingwelala - in the middle of nowhere, disconnecting from the world and spending quality time with the ones I love, enjoying a sundowner and having loads of laughs around the fire / braai. I'm always keen for a little adventure now and then, love a sneaky sushi spoil and red cappuccino 'coffee dates' with my clients.

For the past 10 years I have been a Jane of two main trades, a Wedding &Lifestyle Photographer and a Learn to Swim Instructor. However, after COVID hit and my mums cancer diagnosis in 2022, I knew that a change had to be made in order to give me the freedom to visit mum more and still be able to earn an income from no matter where I was.  This meant that I had to stop teaching which I did in June 2023 and the start of another career path that really does go well with my Photography.  So when I am not photographing my amazing clients and creating wonderful memories for them, I am tapping intto my admin ninja skills as a Virtual Assistant.

When I went through my moms things after she passed in August 2023, it dawned on me that I hardly had ANY photographs with my mum as an adult.   That hit me like a ton of bricks and each time I think about it I feel regret and sadness. I would hate for someone to feel the same and regret not documenting and creating memories with the ones they love in all seasons of life.

When you book a session with me there are a few things that you need to know:

ONE: No matter how awkward you may feel in front of the camera I promise you that it will be okay, I will guide you along the way with posing and also give you little tasks to do to make it feel more natural.

TWO: If you bring your kiddies along on your family session or they are a part of the bridal party at your wedding and they are not focusing on the camera DO NOT freak out or get a fright when you suddenly here a kind of Donald Duck noise booming from behind the lens (it's a lil trick my grandad taught me and it gets their attention and yours all the time.)

THREE: For toddlers who aren't feeling the photo session vibes and are having a bad day, that's okay - I have a 'party trick' that helps them warm up to me. If they throw a tantrum or start crying - please don't feel embarrassed - these things happen and sometimes the crying pics make for the cutest memories and stories to tell the family a few years down the line.

FOUR: No question is a silly one, if there is something that you are not sure of or need help with anything leading up to our photo session together, PLEASE ask me! Don't be shy - I am always happy to answer any questions that you may have.

So that's me in a nutshell and what you can expect when working with me. I'd love to hear what you are dreaming up for your photo session and would be honored to bring your vision to life to create precious and timeless moments that will be looked back on and spoken about for generations to come.
